We've returned from our seven week trip. FEBRUARY 2012 NEWS February 25 & 26 - Congratulations to Rowan - Tifari's All Eyes on Me, CGC (Hondo x Rylee) for winning Best of Breed and a Group 2 on Saturday and Best of Breed and a Group 1 on Sunday at the UKC shows in Michigan. February 19, 2012 - OCRRC Match, Norco, CA Four of the 4 month old Hondo x Bitz puppies were at this Match Diesel and Prez placed 1st & 2nd in their class of five 3-6 month old male puppies. Minx and Beezie placed 1st & 2nd in their class of five 3-6 month old female puppies. CONGRATULATIONS!! JANUARY 2012 NEWS Hondo was Select Dog (5pt Major) at the Tualatin Kennel Club Dog Show Portland, Oregon, January 22, under Judge Robert. E. Hutton. Darcey placed 3rd in her Open class that day. Both were handled by Geri Griffin (Hondo's handler from the BARRC/Pleasanton shows October 2010) Two of the Hondo x Rylee puppies in Michigan and Pennsylvania have started their show careers with 1st place in their classes. Several of the puppies from the Hondo x Bitz litter will start their show careers at the OCRRC & Hound Classic Specialties in California in April at the age of 6-1/2 months. SEPTEMBER 2010 NEWS We're home from the Rhodesian Ridgeback National Specialty in Ventura - September 18-24 WOW -- what a week!! HONDO - CH Triggerhill's Western Adventure, SC, CGC, CHIC - won an Award of Merit! It was thrilling so watch him make cut after cut in the Best of Breed ring with handler Jeni Scattini-Nowell and to receive an AOM. HUNTER - Triggerhill's Doubletake Adventure, SC, RN, CGC This was his week! Saturday he placed 5th in Lure Coursing. Monday he placed 1st in the Rally Novice A class and earned his Rally Novice (RN) title. Wednesday - John showed Hunter in the altered dog class - and he won 1st. This was their first time in a conformation ring. TORI - CH Triggerhill's Notorious Doubletake, SC, RN, CGC Tori placed 2nd in the Rally Novice A class to earn her RN title. At 7-1/2 years and going through treatment for lymphona cancer - she did quite well! She is in remission now John trained and handled both Tori and Hunter to their Rally titles. DARCEY - Adventurerr's Dare to Dream Our 10 month old Rowan x Tori girl - earned 2nd place in 9-12 month Sweepstakes class judged by Doreen Kent and another 2nd place in the regular 9-12 month class - right behind her sister, Hannah, that took 1st place. They were judged by Sandra Fikes. We are very proud of these two girls - they looked great. Photos will be up on the website after we receive them from the photographer. September 25, 2010 Roscoe - HighWayman's True Adventurerr, CGC - earned his Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certificate at a test held by the Southern Oregon Kennel Club during their RDO Day at the Jackson County Fairgrounds in Medford, Oregon - Roscoe is the first puppy to have the CGC title. Congratulations! September 18, 2010 While we were lure coursing in California - Mike Cyrus was showing Cooper at a dog show in Washington - Cooper was Winners Dog and Best of Winners to earn the first points from this quality litter of Rowan x Tori. SPECIAL NOTE FOR PROSPECTIVE RIDGEBACK OWNERS Many people think that breeding Ridgebacks is a way to have money in the bank; but if you do it right that's not always the case. There are many puppy millers and back-yard-breeders (BYB) that might make money at the expense of the dog and the breed. Please be sure that you are buying a puppy from a reputable breeder and that the sire and dam have had all the tests recommended by the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the U.S. (RRCUS) Code of Ethics. The puppies from reputable breeders are usually well socialized, up to date on innoculations and they come with a lifetime friend in the breeder of this puppy. That person is always available to you for assistance in raising the puppy and helping in any way they can. These puppies usually have AKC championship breed titles on their pedigrees as well as many performance titles. Ridgebacks are a very versatile breed and you may enjoy getting involved in some of these activities with your puppy and meet many nice people that are active with their Ridgebacks.
